Emergency standby generation solutions

Some of the specialised services that Smart Power can provide start with providing a comprehensive standby or essential service generation plan.

This involves identifying those (essential) loads that cannot withstand a temporary outage and those loads that can be disconnected for a short length of time (non essential) without disruption to the business. They are distinctly different, and not only require different types of generation, but also different control and power restoration approaches.

These loads are then analysed to determine the size of uninterruptible power supplies for essential loads, and the subsequent on-site generation required to ensure business continuity regardless of the power outage cause.

On some electricity distributor networks (Orion for example) there may be an opportunity to use the generator and export power during periods of high prices or during distributor network constraint periods. Both situations offer the opportunity to either offset costs or create a revenue stream.

Smart Power can manage the entire uninterruptible power supply/generator procurement process and assist with project management of the generator and uninterruptible power supply installation. We can also arrange the ongoing servicing and load tests to ensure that the generator and uninterruptible power supply always work according to design parameters when the need arises.
